It was just the two of them, their golden retriever Archie, and the wild beauty of the San Juan Mountains. We met before dawn and started the climb up a rough 4x4 road - the kind of road that feels like an adventure all on its own - bouncy and jiggling along. I got to ride in the back to get optimal Archie cuddles which was just a bonus on this special day. As we reached the top, the sky began to glow with gold and the reflection of the mountains shimmered across a quiet, stunning lake.
That’s where Kerrin and Ryan exchanged their vows, just as the sun peeked over the ridge. Archie splashed happily in the lake while they read their promises to each other, and the whole scene felt straight out of a dream. There was no rush, no pressure, just pure joy and connection in one of Colorado’s most beautiful spots.
After exchanging vows and taking some portraits, they pulled out their fishing rods and spent a few peaceful moments casting lines together, laughing every time Archie decided to “help.” It was such a perfect snapshot of who they are: laid-back, outdoorsy, and so in love.
On the way back down the mountain, we stopped at a waterfall to pop some champagne and celebrate. The morning light danced in the mist as Kerrin and Ryan soaked in the moment and celebrated being FINALLY married. By the time we reached the bottom, the fall foliage in Silverton was glowing in full color of gold, amber, and rust tones that made the perfect backdrop to wrap up their Colorado mountain elopement.
